PROJECTS: Projects

Learn how to create and manage Projects in Unificus, organized plans tied to clients.

What is a Project?

A Project represents a structured initiative designed to accomplish a specific business goal. Each Project tracks progress toward completion and can optionally break down into smaller Tasks.

Every Project must be linked to a Client. Since Projects are a core part of the platform, you’ll find many customization options to control how much visibility and involvement your Client has.

TIP: If your Project doesn’t involve an actual Client, you can assign a “dummy client” instead.

How do I create a Project?

Begin by going to Projects > Projects and selecting the +Add Project button.

Basic Info

This section lets you configure the core details of your Project.

Project Start Date: Optional field for documenting when the Project officially begins.

Estimated Completion Date: Optional field to record your anticipated finish date.

Target Time: Optional time-of-day setting paired with the Estimated Completion Date. Pick from 30-minute increments in the dropdown.

Project Information (Visible only to staff): Internal Project description that stays hidden from your Client.

Project Information (Visible only to Client): Details your Client sees, kept separate from your internal staff notes.

Client Assignment

A Client must be assigned to every Project. You can quickly add a new Client using the +Add Client button.

Project Assignments

Assign one or more Teammate (individual Staff Member) or Team (multiple Staff Members grouped together) using the dropdown.

Designate a Project Leader to oversee all Task Approvals and Completions. Only Super Admins, Admins, or Project Managers can serve as Project Leader.

If you skip these assignments, the creator is automatically assigned and becomes the Project Leader.

TIP: Your own user account won’t show in the dropdown—you’re always included since you’re making the Project.

Task/Phase Generation

Optionally apply a Task Template during Project setup to auto-generate preset Tasks and Phases.

By default, generated Task and Phase due dates align with your Project’s creation date. Use the Date Picker to pick a different Based on Date if preferred.

Project Economics

Pick a Business Sector you’ve set up in Project Settings. Business Sectors let you classify Projects in a way that matches your organization.

You can also estimate the Project’s financial value by entering a number and selecting a currency from the dropdown.

To tie the value to hours worked, enable the checkbox. Task assignees will then record time spent before marking Tasks complete.

Project Automations

By default, Unificus won’t automatically mark a Project complete when all Tasks finish (or vice versa). Toggle this setting here to enable automatic status updates.

How do I manage Projects?

Once your Project is active, its details appear on the Project Screen. Click the three-dot menu next to the Project to access management options.
