CRM: Secondary Clients

Grant multiple team members access to a project using Secondary Clients in Unificus.

What is a Secondary Client?

When collaborating with multiple stakeholders from your client’s organization on a single project, you’ll want to provide portal access to more than one person. Secondary Clients make this possible.

How to create a Secondary Client

Secondary Clients are created using the same process as standard Clients. The “Secondary Client” designation simply indicates that this user is not the primary point of contact for a given Project.

Using Secondary Clients in Projects & Tasks

When you have a client-side team working with you, set up each team member as a Client in Unificus. As you build your Project, assign the primary Client (often the team lead) along with any Secondary Clients who need access.

What can Secondary Clients see and do?

  • Secondary Clients can view the Project Overview Dashboard if it’s enabled for their assigned Project.
  • Secondary Clients can be added as Followers to Tasks within their assigned Project.
  • Secondary Clients can be assigned directly to Tasks in their assigned Project.
  • Secondary Clients cannot view Tasks assigned only to the Primary Client, unless they’re also added as a Follower to that specific Task.
  • When a Secondary Client follows a Task, they gain read-only access to Task details. They cannot modify the Task, change its Status, adjust Priority, or make other edits (this read-only limitation applies to all Followers).
