Content Categories

Customize and organize content categories throughout Unificus to match your business needs.

What are Content Categories?

Content Categories let you personalize the different types of items used across Unificus. For instance, Companies come with default types like Communication, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Software Development—but you can add new ones such as Tourism or Retail, or modify existing options. Similarly, CRM Deals include nine preset types by default; you can remove any that don’t apply to your organization.

To begin, go to Flyout Menu > Categories.

You’ll see a list of available Category Types to work with.

Adding & Arranging Content Categories

Let’s walk through creating a new Task Type as an example.

  1. Select Task Types from the side menu
  2. Click the +Add Category - Task Types button
  1. Enter a Name for your new Task Type
  2. Use the Type dropdown to switch between different Category Types if needed
  3. Optionally use the Color Picker to color-code your Category
  4. Check Set as the Default if you want this Type selected automatically when creating new items
  1. Click Add to create the Category

You can now reorder Categories by hovering over them and dragging up or down.

TIP: Default Categories always appear at the top of the list, regardless of where you position them.

To see your new Category in action, navigate to a Project and create or edit a Task. Open the Task Type dropdown menu.

Your newly-created Task Type is now available for selection.

How do I manage Content Categories?

Click the Options menu button next to any Content Category you want to modify.

Most Content Categories offer Edit, Delete, or Set Default options.

Some specialized Content Categories include required defaults that cannot be deleted:

  • Task Status: Open, Assigned, Working, Review, Follow Up, and Completed
  • Project Status: Completed
  • Phase Status: Completed

IMPORTANT: If you attempt to delete a Task Status currently assigned to items, you’ll be prompted to reassign those items to a different Status.
