PAGES: Assigning a Start Page
Set up a personalized landing page that displays when users log into Unificus.
What is a Start Page?
A Start Page functions as the initial landing destination for users upon logging in—essentially their personalized homepage.
You have the flexibility to designate any Portal Page you’ve designed as the Start Page for Contacts or Staff Members, with complete control over the content and customization level.
Alternatively, you can configure a Project’s Project Dashboard to serve as a Client’s Start Page. Additional details appear in the sections below.
How do I assign a Portal Page as a Start Page?
Begin by creating a Portal Page that will function as your intended Start Page.

With your Portal Page ready, go to Content > Portal Pages > Manage Pages.
Before designating a Start Page, ensure the user already has access permissions to that specific page.
For Prospects and Clients, you’ll find input fields for assigning Contact(s) or Circle(s).
For Staff roles (Admin, Project Manager, Office Manager, Teammate, Salesperson, and Freelancer), input fields allow you to assign Staff Member(s) or Team(s).
After confirming the target user(s) have access to the Portal Page, you can establish the Start Page assignment through either of these methods:
Within the Portal Page’s Edit view, locate and click the Assign Start Page button.
Alternatively, from the Manage Pages view, click the Options menu (three dots) and choose Assign Start Page.
Select your desired User(s) or Circle(s)/Team(s) using the corresponding dropdown menus.
To preview the configuration, Impersonate the user and you’ll observe the Start Page display in real-time!
How do I assign a Project Dashboard as a Start Page?
Your Client must be linked to a Project that has the Project Dashboard functionality activated.

Navigate to Projects > Projects and select Manage for the Project you want to designate as a Start Page.
Select the Settings tab from the top navigation bar.
Find the Project Dashboard section and switch Enable the Project Dashboard view to ON.
Then identify which Clients (including the Primary Client and any Secondary Clients) should have the Project Dashboard assigned as their Start Page.
Linking to the Start Page
When building Custom Menus or other navigation elements that need to adapt based on the logged-in user, you can reference the user’s Start Page with this Placeholder Link:
/your-start-page/
This relative URL adjusts automatically to your specific base URL.
Your complete Start Page URL should appear as https://yourchoice.yourdomainname.com/your-start-page/
(substitute https://yourchoice.yourdomainname.com with your actual Custom URL)
