OFFICE: Allocating Timers

Learn how to convert paused timers into billable invoice items within Unificus.

How do I add a Timer to an Invoice?

When you have a Paused Timer associated with a Project or Task, you can convert it into an Invoice Item. The system calculates the charge using your specified Hourly Rate multiplied by the elapsed time.

You have two options: use the Time Tracking Widget (available throughout the platform) or navigate to the dedicated Timers section.

How do I add a Timer to an Invoice using the Time Tracking Widget?

Expand the Time Tracking Widget and select your desired Timer from the dropdown.

The Timer must be in Paused status to proceed—if it’s currently running, click the pause button.

Once paused, click the invoice icon.

Select whether you want to create a New Invoice or Accumulating Generator, or assign it to an Existing one.

When choosing an existing option, a dropdown appears showing only Invoices and Generators tied to the Client of your original Project/Task.

You can add or edit a Note before finalizing. Whatever you write here automatically populates the Item Description field on the Invoice.

Clicking the Invoice button takes you to the Invoice or Accumulating Generator editor. Your Timer now appears as an Invoice Item, which you can modify by adjusting Quantity, Rate, Discount, or Tax as needed.

How do I add a Timer to an Invoice in the Timers section?

If the Time Tracking Widget isn’t enabled, you can manage Timers through the Timers List View instead.

Go to Projects > Projects, then select Timers from the top navigation.

Find your Timer and click its Options menu, then select Invoice.

Note: The Timer must be Paused for the Invoice option to appear.

A dialog box appears where you can choose to create a New Invoice or Accumulating Generator, or pick an Existing one.

For existing items, a dropdown filters the list to show only those connected to your Timer’s Project/Task Client.

You can also include a Note, which automatically becomes the Item Description on the Invoice.

After clicking Invoice, you’re taken to the editor. The Timer is now an Invoice Item ready for customization—adjust Quantity, Rate, Discount, or Tax as you would with any standard Item.
