FILES: File Requests

Request documents from contacts, staff, or external parties with customizable folders and deadlines.

What is a File Request?

Need to gather files or documents? Use File Requests to request materials from your Contacts, Staff members, or even people outside your Unificus account. Each file can be up to 10GB in size.

Only Super Admin, Admin, Project Manager, and Office Manager roles can create File Requests.

Starting a File Request

Head to Files in the main menu and select the Request Files button in the top navigation.

A dialog will open letting you set up where uploaded files should land. Specify a folder name for the incoming files—by default, it will be stored in the File Requests folder, but you can choose a different location with the Choose Folder button.

You can also set an optional deadline date and time for when you need the files.

Select Next to choose who receives the request. You can pick individual users, Circles, or Teams from your account, or enter any external email address. Feel free to include a personalized message as well.

Recipients will get an email containing a straightforward link to upload their files.

Want to customize the email itself? Visit Flyout > Email Templates. Learn more about Email Templates.

Once files are uploaded, they’ll appear in the auto-generated folder.

After the folder is created, you can reuse its preview link to keep collecting files. Go to the File Requests page (Files > File Requests), click the three dots next to your request, then choose Preview File Request.

Copy the URL from the preview page.

You’re all set to share this link via email, embed it on your website, or distribute it however you like.

Managing File Requests

In the Files section, open the File Requests folder.

You’ll see a list of all generated Folders for your requests. Click the three dots button next to any folder to access these options:

Download: Save all files from this folder to your computer.

Edit File Request: Update any details about your request.

Preview File Request: View the page exactly as recipients will see it.

Delete File Request: Remove the request folder and all its contents. This action is permanent.

Send File Request Reminder: Resend the request. If multiple recipients were included, you can select which ones to remind.
