MARKETING: Email Sending Settings

Set up email delivery methods for your marketing campaigns in Unificus.

How do I configure my Email Sending Settings?

Before launching Campaigns or Drip Sequences through the Marketing menu, you’ll need to set up your Send Email Settings.

Learn more about Email Marketing

Start by going to Marketing > Settings.

You have three Email Sending Methods to choose from via the dropdown menu, depending on what works best for you.

SMTP

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard method for routing messages through an email server for processing and delivery.

This option lets you enter details from a third-party email service (MailGun, SendGrid, Amazon SES, and others). If you already have an account with an external SMTP provider, you can reuse those same login details to transmit your Unificus Marketing messages.

Common providers with setup guides:

Use this testing tool to validate your configuration. Once you confirm a successful test, copy those same credentials into Unificus.

Looking for an affordable SMTP setup? Set up Amazon SES if you have an Amazon account.

SendGrid

If you use SendGrid, link it to Unificus by providing your API Key and From Email address.

Dedicated IP

For enhanced control, add a Dedicated Sending IP Address as an optional feature for $20 per month. This includes your own IP for marketing messages plus 10,000 monthly sends.

Pick “Dedicated IP” from the dropdown and click Request IP to start the process. You’ll receive an email once your request is reviewed and active. After approval, your dedicated IP automatically displays in Email Sending Settings.

Important: Choosing “IP” adds a $20/month charge to your subscription. You receive a dedicated IP and 10,000 monthly message allowance. Exceeding this threshold costs an additional $15 per 10,000 messages. The fee starts only after approval and cancels anytime by removing the IP from Email Sending settings.

How do I ensure authentication and deliverability of my emails?

Boost email authentication and delivery by adding or updating an SPF record on your domain:

  • If you don’t have an SPF record, publish this:
v=spf1 include:portalmailbox.com -all
  • If you already have an SPF record, add include:portalmailbox.com before the final terminator:

Original example:

v=spf1 a -all

Updated example:

v=spf1 a include:portalmailbox.com -all
