White Label Mobile App
Deploy a branded mobile app using Progressive Web App technology without app store hassles.
Can I have a White Label Mobile App?
Absolutely! By fully white-labeling your Unificus account with a custom domain and login page, you’ll automatically get access to a branded mobile app powered by Progressive Web App (PWA) technology. Learn why PWAs represent the future of mobile.
Will my app appear in the Apple & Google app stores?
Short answer: no—but there’s a better way!
Publishing native apps for both platforms under your organization’s name isn’t practical due to Apple and Google’s policies against ‘boilerplate’ apps (multiple versions of the same codebase). While this was once possible, approval standards have become far stricter.
There’s simply no cost-effective or efficient method to maintain native apps on both platforms. Companies claiming otherwise are relying on outdated, expensive, and increasingly unreliable approaches.
Why native apps are problematic
Supporting native apps on both platforms is slow and costly:
- You must establish and maintain separate developer accounts with Apple and Google—each involves technical challenges, significant time investment, and ongoing fees.
- Native apps fall behind web functionality because they require updates whenever features change or improvements roll out.
- As iOS and Android release new versions, your apps need constant updates to meet security standards. You’re also subject to their policies, creating additional maintenance burdens and expenses.
A superior alternative exists
Welcome to the future of mobile!
Even Steve Jobs anticipated that Progressive Web Apps would eventually replace native applications. To explore PWAs further, visit this resource.
What makes Progressive Web Apps superior?
There are several compelling advantages:
- Your users won’t need to hunt for and install a native app—no downloads or tedious updates required. You can guide them to install your branded PWA through your website, social media, and marketing materials.
- You eliminate all expenses and complications associated with maintaining two separate native apps across different platforms.
- Your users always experience the latest features and data on mobile because the PWA uses the same codebase and database as your desktop platform—no gaps between versions.
- Native apps typically offer limited functionality due to platform constraints. A PWA-based platform like Unificus is fully optimized for mobile, meaning almost everything you can do on desktop works seamlessly on smartphones and tablets.
- PWAs are the future. Both Google and Apple are investing heavily in PWA technology. Steve Jobs predicted that browser-based mobile experiences would eventually replace native apps entirely. Going forward, native apps will likely be reserved for gaming—though even that’s changing with services like Google Stadia and Apple Arcade.

This PWA approach gives you a fully branded mobile app while ensuring your users experience identical functionality on mobile and web—no compromises, no differences.
How do your users install the app?
Three conditions must be met before your PWA is ready:
- Access to custom domain and custom login features
- Both custom domain and custom login properly configured
- An app icon (PNG format) uploaded in your custom login settings
Android installation
Once these prerequisites are in place, an Install this app button appears on your custom login page when users visit your custom URL via Android devices or tablets. (If using Chrome, you may need to scroll to see it.)
Users simply tap Install this app on their device and the PWA installs like any other mobile app.
Note: The button disappears once installed. Test on a device that doesn’t have the app yet.
Your uploaded app icon becomes the home screen icon. When tapped, the PWA launches, displays a splash screen, then shows the login page.
Apple installation
Apple devices require a few additional steps, but the process remains straightforward.
Open Safari on your Apple iOS device and navigate to your custom URL (for example: https://secure.deepfocuslabs.com).
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the browser.
Scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.
Optionally change the app name, then tap Add.
Check your home screen to confirm your app now appears and is ready to use.
After installation, you can organize it like any app—move it between screens, add it to folders, or remove it using standard iOS methods.
