Set Up Custom 'From Email' with SMTP

Configure SMTP settings to send notification emails from your own email address in Unificus.

Understanding SMTP

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) allows you to route notification emails through your own email server. This approach works well if you manage your own email domain.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer Unificus to handle email delivery on your behalf using a domain you own, consider using Domain Verified Sending instead.

Configuring SMTP in Unificus

  1. Open the Flyout Menu and select Email Branding.
  1. Enter your From Name and Company Name as they should appear in outgoing emails.
  1. Select SMTP as your Email Sending Method.
  1. Complete all required fields with your email server details.
  1. Provide your Host configuration, which includes:

    • Login / Email
    • Password
    • Port
    • Encryption type

Use the Ignore SSL warnings toggle if needed, then click Save.

Office 365 Setup

If you’re using a Microsoft / Office 365 email account:

  1. Go to Admin > Users > Manage Email Apps and enable Authenticated SMTP.
  1. In the Use SMTP to send emails section, enter these values:
    • Host: smtp.office365.com
    • Login / Email: your Office 365 username
    • Password: your Office 365 password
    • Port: 587
    • Encryption: TLS
