PROJECTS: Team Talk and Client Talk
Learn how to use Team Talk and Client Talk for project-based communication in Unificus.
Overview
Team Talk and Client Talk function as dedicated message boards within each project, enabling discussions about project specifics.
- Team Talk facilitates conversations among internal staff members.
- Client Talk enables dialogue between your clients and your team.
Access Permissions
Different user roles have varying levels of access to these messaging features:
- Clients: Can access Client Talk only
- Teammates and Salespersons: Can access Team Talk only
- Project Managers and Admins: Can access both Team Talk and Client Talk
- Freelancers: Cannot access either feature
Using Team Talk
To begin using Team Talk:
- Go to Projects > Projects
- Select the relevant Project from the list
- Click the Team Talk tab in the navigation menu at the top
- You’ll see all posted messages. Click any message to open a reply panel on the right side
- To start a new discussion thread, click the +Team Talk button
Users mentioned in messages will get a notification that appears in the Notification Panel, which includes a direct link back to the conversation.
Using Client Talk
Accessing Client Talk works similarly:
- Navigate to Projects > Projects
- Choose the Project you want to discuss
- Click the Client Talk tab in the top navigation
- Browse existing messages and click to reply, or create a new message using the +Team Talk button
Notified participants will see an alert in the Notification Panel with a shortcut to join the conversation.
Privacy Mode vs. Convenience Mode
By default, Unificus operates in Privacy Mode, which means message content does not appear in email notifications. This safeguards sensitive data and supports HIPAA and other regulatory compliance.
Convenience Mode is an optional setting that changes this behavior:
- Message content appears in email notifications
- Recipients can reply directly to emails without logging into Unificus
- Email replies automatically post to the correct message thread
Enabling Convenience Mode
To turn on Convenience Mode:
- Open the Flyout Menu and select Company Settings
- Find the Privacy / Convenience Modes section
- Toggle Convenience Mode on
Important: Enabling Convenience Mode means HIPAA compliance is no longer guaranteed. Do not use this setting if you handle regulated or sensitive information that requires privacy protection by law.
