PROJECTS: Project & Task Files

Organize and manage project documents with private, public, and task-specific file folders.

Understanding Project Files

Each Project in Unificus includes a dedicated Files tab where you can store and organize documents and files related to that specific project.

Locating Your Project Files

Open any Project and select the Files tab from the top navigation:

Admins and Project Managers will see three folders by default: Private Files, Public Files, and Tasks.

Private Project Files

Use this folder for internal documents that should remain confidential within your team.

Who can access Private Files:

  • ✓ Admins, Project Managers, and assigned team members
  • ✗ Primary clients
  • ✗ Secondary clients
  • ✗ Freelancers

Private files are completely hidden from all external parties and secondary stakeholders.

Public Project Files

This folder serves as a shared repository for project-related documents that stakeholders need to access.

Who can access Public Files:

  • ✓ All assigned team members (including freelancers)
  • ✓ Primary and secondary clients
  • Upload, download, and view permissions for all

Use this folder when you want to distribute materials to your entire project team and client group.

Task Files

Task Files contains individual folders for each task within your project:

Access to Task folders depends on task assignment:

Admins and Project Managers: Can view all task folders and their contents

Team Members and Freelancers: Can only view task folders for tasks they’re assigned to

Clients and Secondary Clients: Can only view task folders for tasks they’re assigned to

Anyone without an assignment to a specific task cannot see that task’s folder or files.

What Clients See

When clients access the Files tab, they view:

  • All contents from the Public Files folder
  • Task folders only for tasks they’re assigned to (displaying the task title as the folder name)
  • Files uploaded within each assigned task’s folder
