Two Factor Authentication
Enable two-factor authentication to add an extra security layer to your Unificus account.
What is Two Factor Authentication?
Two Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an additional security checkpoint to your account by requiring verification beyond just your login credentials.
Understanding One-Time Passwords
Once 2FA is enabled, the login process includes an additional verification step. After entering your standard username and password, you’ll receive a prompt asking for a One-Time Password.
Your authenticator app (installed on your phone) generates this code automatically. The password expires after 30 seconds, so you’ll need to enter it promptly to finish logging in.
Prerequisites for Setting Up 2FA
You’ll need to have a third-party authenticator application available on your mobile device before starting the setup process.
Consider one of these widely-used options:
Google Authenticator — Android | iOS
Lastpass Authenticator — Android | iOS
Microsoft Authenticator — Android | iOS
Important: Your chosen authenticator app will generate a unique code each time you log into Unificus.
Enabling 2FA in Unificus
Go to Flyout Menu > My Profile/Settings.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Two Factor Authentication section.
Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed. This generates a verification code that you’ll paste into the input field. Select Activate to confirm and complete setup.
From that point forward, each login to Unificus will require you to provide the temporary code from your authenticator app after entering your credentials.
