FILES: Project Files

Organize and manage project documents with private, public, and task-specific file folders.

What are Project Files?

Each Project in Unificus includes a dedicated Files section where you can store and organize documents directly tied to that specific Project.

Locating Your Project Files

Open any Project and select the Files tab from the top navigation:

As an Admin or Project Manager, you’ll see three distinct folders: Private Files, Public Files, and Tasks.

Private Files

Use this folder for sensitive or internal documents that your team needs to keep confidential. The contents remain visible only to your assigned staff members (Admins, Project Managers, and Teammates)—Freelancers cannot access this folder.

Clients, Secondary Clients, and Freelancers have no access to Private Files and cannot see that this folder exists.

Public Files

Design this folder as your shared document hub for project-related materials. Everyone involved with the Project can upload, download, and view files here, including:

  • All assigned team members
  • Freelancers
  • Primary and Secondary Clients

Task Files

This folder automatically organizes into subfolders—one for each Task within your Project:

Access depends on Task assignments:

  • Admins & Project Managers: See all Task folders and their contents
  • Teammates & Freelancers: View only Task folders linked to their assigned Tasks
  • Clients & Secondary Clients: View only Task folders linked to their assigned Tasks

Client View of Files

When clients access your Project, they’ll see the Files tab displaying:

  • All contents from your Public Files folder
  • Task folders for any Tasks they’re assigned to, showing uploaded documents

CLIENT VIEW

Controlling Client File Access

You can restrict or customize client permissions for file visibility and uploads. Visit your Project’s Settings to adjust these granular controls:
