FILES: Folder Generators
Learn how to create and apply folder structures to organize your Unificus contacts and projects.
What is a Folder Generator?
A Folder Generator lets you establish a standardized folder layout tied to a particular Contact type. When you set one up, Unificus can automatically build this folder structure inside a Company or Contact’s “Shared with me” Folder. Your template can contain multiple folders at various levels, along with documents.
Use Folder Generators to instantly populate folder hierarchies for newly-added Companies or Contacts, or deploy them to existing Company/Contact Staff or project records.
What content can I add to a Folder Generator?
Your Folder Generator can hold folders and files in any quantity and arrangement.
Important note: When a Contact is created, files within the Folder Generator are duplicated to that Contact. However, there’s no ongoing connection between the original files in your Folder Generator and the copies that appear in the Contact’s generated folders.
How do I create a Folder Generator?
- Go to Files from the main menu, then select Folder Generator to access that section.

A dialog box will open where you can pick the Generator Type and enter a name.
- Generator Type: Choose from CRM Contact, Company, Staff, or Project to identify your target audience.
