Rescheduling or Cancelling an Appointment
Both staff members and contacts can modify or remove appointments through the Unificus portal or via the appointment confirmation email.

Staff Members: How to Reschedule or Cancel
If your role includes an Appointment Generator (formerly called Appointment Type), you can change or cancel appointments for your contacts.
To reschedule or cancel:
- Go to Calendar > My Calendar and select the appointment you want to modify
- A window opens showing appointment details with options to Reschedule Appointment or Cancel the Appointment
- Choose ‘Reschedule Appointment’ to pick a new time slot. If you have multiple Appointment Generators set up, a dropdown lets you select which one to use
- After selecting your new time, you’ll see a confirmation screen. Click the dropdown arrow to customize the confirmation email sent to the contact

Before finalizing, you can:
- Add or update appointment reminders
- Include public notes
- Edit the rescheduling email notification

Any configured automations will trigger automatically when you save

Your contact’s calendar and your own will immediately reflect the new appointment time.
To cancel, select ‘Cancel Appointment’ and confirm the cancellation when prompted.
Contacts: How to Reschedule or Cancel
If you have portal access, you can modify your own appointments directly.
To reschedule your appointment:
- Click the appointment in your calendar
- A window displays your appointment details and a Reschedule Appointment option
- Click ‘Reschedule Appointment’ and select your preferred time from available slots. If multiple appointment types are available, use the dropdown to choose
- Select your new time and click Book It! to confirm
Any automations associated with your appointment will activate right away.
To cancel your appointment:
Click ‘Cancel Appointment’ and confirm when the system asks for verification.
Rescheduling or Cancelling from an Email Link
You can also reschedule or cancel directly from your appointment confirmation email—no need to log in first.
- Click the link in your appointment confirmation email
- You’ll see a page with your appointment details and options to Cancel or Reschedule, just like in the portal
